AUDI or AUDI AG is a German automobile manufacturer that produces luxury Auto mobiles . It is part of the Volkswagen Group.
The Audi Company was founded in Chemnitz, Germany on June 29, 1932. The company oversees worldwide production from its headquarters in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany.
Producer of cars
There are only 9 producers of the AUDI-branded vehicles worldwide. The name originated from it’s founder, August Horch – ‘Horch’ means to listen in German, and translated to ‘audi’ which means the same thing in Latin. The four rings in the in the badge represents the four companies that band and form the predecessor of the company, Auto Union.
The company’s slogan is ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ which means ‘Advantage through Technology’. However, in the United States, the ‘Truth in Engineering’ slogan is used. The company is one of the members of German Big 3 luxury automobile producers, followed by the BMW and Mercedes Benz brands .
Previously, on June 16, 1909, automotive pioneer August Horch founded the August Horch Automobilwerke GmbH in Germany. He then renamed the company after a Latin translation of his last name – making it Audi Automobilwerke. In 1932, merged with three other companies (Horch, DKW and Wanderer) to form the Auto Union AG. The four rings represent the four companies.
