The 2017 Subaru Outback Release Date Price & Specs
Subaru has developed a solid reputation for building quality vehicles that are reliable on various terrains, have a good look, affordably priced and have quality interior aspects. This reputation has grown world-wide, which is quite a feat when you consider all of the various automakers Subaru competes with.
For the 2017 model year, Subaru has taken steps to solidify their high ranking by giving the Outback a new, futuristic look, even better interior, and a more powerful engine. With these improvements, it is easy to assume that the Subaru fan base will be growing this year.
While many details about the 2017 Outback’s interior are still a secret, we can assume the cabin will be simple, yet stylish with wood and aluminium features. The infotainment system, as well as other features, will be controlled by a large touch-screen mounted on the centre console. The seats, gear knob and steering wheel will be wrapped in leather, leaving the cabin with a clean and stylish feel.
The upgraded infotainment system will have modern features like USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, Smartphone integration and Wi-Fi. An automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, power seats, satellite navigation and other features will also be present. An air bag package and bolstered seat belts will be added for improved safety. Driving aids will also be available, some standard and some as optional features.
A more futuristic design has been added to the 2017 Outback. The front features a centre-positioned, diamond-shaped grill that provides for a sleek look. Elegant LED headlights flank the grill and are complimented by round fog lights. A large bumper, featuring large air intakes, has also been added to the front, giving the Outback a more powerful appearance.
An attractive, redesigned profile has been added to the back of the 2017 Outback and features narrow taillights and a new exhaust system that has the tips on either side. Beefy 20-inch wheels will more than likely be equipped for better riding performance, and the aerodynamic body will improve the Outback’s efficiency and performance.
A new drive-train will be added under the hood to compliment the new design of the 2017 Outback. A 3.0L DOHC 6-cylinder engine will provide 175 HP and 172 lb-ft. of torque. An automatic 6-speed gearbox will be mated to the new engine. The 0-60 time is estimated to be around 7.5 seconds.
While the official EPA ratings have not been released, Subaru estimates a combined fuel economy of 26 mpg. This is an improvement on fuel economy of 20% when compared to the outgoing model.
